Baroness Helena Kennedy<\/a><\/strong> is a leading barrister and an expert in human rights law, civil liberties and constitutional issues. She is a member of the House of Lords and chair of Justice<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 the British arm of the International Commission of Jurists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Helena Kennedy is the Director of International Bar Human rights Institute<\/strong><\/a> (IBAHRI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Helena Kennedy<\/strong> is one of Britain’s most distinguished lawyers. She has spent her professional life giving voice to those who have least power within the system, championing civil liberties and promoting human rights<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has used many public platforms \u2013 including the House of Lords, to which she was elevated in 1997 \u2013 to argue with passion, wit and humanity for social justice. She has also written and broadcast on a wide range of issues, from medical negligence to terrorism to the rights of women and children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has also been honoured by the Governments of France and Italy for her considerable work on women\u2019s rights and education. She was created a life peer in 1997 and has been a strong advocate for social justice and the rule of law in the House of Lords. In March 2024, Helena was appointed to The Order of the Thistle<\/a>, the greatest order of chivalry in Scotland <\/strong>in recognition of the importance of her public service, pioneering work in advancing human rights and social justice, both domestically and internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the ‘Woman Life Freedom<\/strong>‘ movement Baroness Kennedy is working to to codify and include the crime of gender apartheid<\/strong> in Crimes against Humanity Convention<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>
