The Increase of Brain Drain in Iran\u2019s Health Sector <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The significant growth in the number of students and researchers over the past five decades in Iran’s academic and scientific sectors has led to relative self-sufficiency in the health field. However, a study of migration statistics in Iran shows that the most capable and talented graduates, particularly in the health sector, are on the path to migration. This trend is observed among more than 30% of professionals and 50% of the entire specialized student body in the health sector. Approximately 25% of them have taken concrete steps toward migration and have a specific timeline for leaving Iran. Economic, social anomalies, disproportionate management, and an ethical recession are cited as the main reasons for their desire to leave the country. Despite the growing wave of migration in the health sector over the past decade, there has been no indication in the country’s macro and micro political, social, or economic programs regarding the critique and understanding of the primary causes of elite migration. Professionals, intellectuals, health workers, and citizens must urgently engage in discussions on this issue and compel officials to find fundamental solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
