Nazenin Ansari is the Publisher and Managing Editor of two independent media outlets focusing on Iran.\u00a0 Kayhan London<\/a> and Kayhan Life<\/a> .<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kayhan-London (Persian) and its sister publication Kayhan-Life (English) are London-based media outlets focusing on Iran and its presence on the international scene.\u00a0 The publication\u2019s history goes back to the early 1940s in Iran.\u00a0 Its assets were seized and transferred to the office of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic after the 1979 revolution. Its original publisher re-launched the paper in London in the early 1980s. Kayhan-London is considered as the oldest intellectual home for the Iranian diaspora aspiring for secular and democratic Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nazenin is also the founding Trustee of Persia Educational Foundation<\/strong><\/a> , which advances education and learning for Iranians outside Iran. Persia\u2019s bespoke Character and Civic Education training was the first education project of its kind developed to benefit Iranian-British children raised in the UK.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In June 2023, Persia organized the first-ever festival of short films by Iranian women that explored the diverse dimensions of life in today’s Iran.   In 2022, it launched the Abdolreza Ansari Scholarship, designed to support students studying in the fields of public service and human rights.   In 2017 Persia gathered more than 300 of the most accomplished Iranian women leaders from the world of media, finance, politics, arts, and well-being to the first-ever Iranian Women\u2019s Leadership Conference in London and Iranian American Women\u2019s Foundation. That same year the foundation set up the Mirzakhani Scholarship for Women in 2017 to support the education of women of Iranian descent enrolled in a Master of Science or final year of a Doctorate program studying STEM (Science, Technology, Education and Mathematics.) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nazenin started her career in journalism during the early 1980s at ABC News Radio in Washington D.C.  and was a contributor to BBC World\u2019s Dateline London.  She was the executive producer and moderator of a news discussion program on Manoto Television called <This Week>. She was also a Special London Correspondent for Voice of America. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2028A Trustee of the Foreign Press Association<\/strong><\/a> in London , the first and oldest association of foreign journalists in the world, founded in 1888, Nazenin was elected to its governing Committee in 2002.\u00a0 She served as President, Vice President, and Chairwoman of the FPA Media Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlights of her tenure at the FPA included launching the \u201cDialogue of Cultures\u201d award and organizing the “Women as Agents of Change” symposium.  During her tenure as President, the FPA also participated in the UK Parliamentary Press Gallery Awards and British Press Awards. The UK Parliamentary Press Gallery award, a collaboration with the British Parliament, was presented annually to the journalist who was  considered to have made a most significant contribution internationally to the ‘protection, promotion and perpetuation of parliamentary democracy.\u2019 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
