Helena Kennedy

بارونس هلنا کندی یک وکیل برجسته و متخصص در حقوق بشر، آزادی‌های مدنی و مسائل قانون اساسی است. او از سال 1997 عضو مجلس اعیان بریتانیا است و رئیس سازمان عدالت – شاخه بریتانیایی کمیسیون بین‌المللی حقوق‌دانان است.

هلنا کندی مدیریت مؤسسه حقوق بشر کانون بین‌المللی وکلای دادگستری (IBAHRI) را بر عهده دارد. این مؤسسه به عنوان دبیرخانه هیئت عالی نیز فعالیت می‌کند. وی همچنین به عنوان وکیل اصلی در تیم تحقیقاتی سازمان ملل متحد درباره قتل جمال خاشقجی، روزنامه‌نگار سعودی، فعالیت داشته است.

بارونس هلنا کندی با بیش از ۵۰ سال سابقه وکالت در انگلستان و ولز، یکی از چهره‌های برجسته حقوق بشر است. او تاکنون در پرونده‌های مهم بسیاری در دادگاه‌های انگلستان وکالت کرده و به‌عنوان مشاور پادشاه و عضو مجلس اعیان بریتانیا شناخته می‌شود. وی همچنین بالاترین نشان علمی اسکاتلند را دریافت کرده و به‌عنوان استاد و مدیر کالج منسفیلد آکسفورد فعالیت می‌کند.

بعد از جنبش زن زندگی آزادی خانم کندی فعالانه برای جرم سازی “آپارتاید جنسیتی” در قوانین بین المللی فعالیت می کند.

Baroness Helena Kennedy is a leading barrister and an expert in human rights law, civil liberties and constitutional issues. She is a member of the House of Lords and chair of Justice – the British arm of the International Commission of Jurists.

Helena Kennedy is the Director of International Bar Human rights Institute (IBAHRI).

Helena Kennedy is one of Britain’s most distinguished lawyers. She has spent her professional life giving voice to those who have least power within the system, championing civil liberties and promoting human rights

She has used many public platforms – including the House of Lords, to which she was elevated in 1997 – to argue with passion, wit and humanity for social justice. She has also written and broadcast on a wide range of issues, from medical negligence to terrorism to the rights of women and children.

She has also been honoured by the Governments of France and Italy for her considerable work on women’s rights and education. She was created a life peer in 1997 and has been a strong advocate for social justice and the rule of law in the House of Lords. In March 2024, Helena was appointed to The Order of the Thistle, the greatest order of chivalry in Scotland in recognition of the importance of her public service, pioneering work in advancing human rights and social justice, both domestically and internationally.

Following the ‘Woman Life Freedom‘ movement Baroness Kennedy is working to to codify and include the crime of gender apartheid in Crimes against Humanity Convention.
